B C Amateur Baseball Association is pleased to announce its plans for the 16u Western Canada Games Team for 2007.

We will continue with our regional talent identification events throughout the province. These will be followed by a provincial camp at which the team will be selected. The team will travel to Edmonton, AB to compete at the Western Canada Games Aug. 8 - 11.

We would like to identfy all players currently participating in baseball programs in the province so that we can encourage them to participate fully in Baseball BC programs.

Details are as follows:

Ages:

  • 16 years old and under, as of Dec. 31/07

Tryout Dates:

    Lower Mainland
    • Fri., May 18: Robert Burnaby Park, Burnaby register
    • Fri., June 1: Robert Burnaby Park, Burnaby register
    • Fri., June 8: UBC Mizuno School of Baseball, Vancouver register
    Kootenays Prince George Island Okanagan

Times:

  • Weekday tryouts are 6pm. Weekend tryouts are 10am.

Clothing:

  • All athletes should wear appropriate baseball/softball attire. Players should bring their own bats and catchers should have their own gear.

Cost:

$20.00 (please make cheques payable to Baseball BC)

Evaluation:

  • Athletes will be evaluated through a series of skill tests and competitive situations.

Successful candidates will be notified following the completion of the tryouts and will be invited to a Provincial Camp running from July 9 - 12, in Oliver, BC. Further details will be sent by mail to all Provincial Camp athletes as soon as possible. Please note that there will be a fee for this program.
