An avid baseball player in his youth, Dan Taylor returned to the sport he loves in 1994 as an adult to serve as Commissioner for a new recreational association, Lower Mainland Baseball Association, a position he still holds today. Under his guidance, the LMBA has evolved into the largest adult baseball league in Canada, currently involving 32 teams in 14 Lower Mainland municipalities. Players range in age from 19 to 70+ and are able to continue their baseball careers in a competitive league that emphasizes participation and sportsmanship thanks to the development of this league.
Dan also served as tournament chairman for the 2010 Canadian National Oldtimers Baseball tournament. Featuring 24 teams from across Canada, it was likely the largest adult baseball tournament hosted in British Columbia.
Dan is proud of helping to grow the game of baseball at the adult level and provide an opportunity for all those involved at the youth level today a place to play tomorrow.
